| If you have ever met a Berner then you know what it is like to fall in love with a dog at first sight! They are such Beautiful dogs with a great personality and disposition! They make excellent family dogs and are the best heated blanket you will ever sleep with! Three things you should study up on before purchasing a Berner are: 1. HEAT EXHAUSTION 2. BLOAT 3. PARVO! These are a few things you may encounter with a Bernese or any dog if not taken care of properly. Now, a little more about us! After graduating from college with BA in Equine Management and a BS in Equine Science I continued working in all aspects of the horse world. Which is where I met and fell in love with my first Bernese! Finally my career settled in the world of veterinary medicine as a Vet Assistant/Technician. After three years of strictly equine practices, I settled into a small animal clinic where I worked with primarily dogs and cats! This experience and knowledge has allowed me to provide the best care nutritionally and medically for the dogs. Plenty of tender loving care just comes naturally! Unlike a lot of people my 'kids' (Berners) have 15 acres to run and play on during the day. We have just under 80 acres but most of it is in row crops. The kids run around with the horses playing in the snow, mud and grass. They even get to enjoy deer that come up to the fruit trees for a snack. My dogs are very happy and healthy because they are allowed to be dogs, running around playing like they want to. And of course they are my alarm system for when people show up! |
